About this event

Join us on Wednesday 18th March at 2pm for ASRA Hour, where we’ll be welcoming Dr Adrian Clark, Head of Student Health & Wellbeing at the University of London, for an in-depth exploration of the University’s Support to Reside Policy and Procedure.

This session offers a detailed walkthrough of the framework, brought to life through a realistic case study that demonstrates how complex wellbeing and safety concerns are managed within a residential setting. Adapting the logic of established Support to Study and Fitness to Study processes, Support to Reside applies these principles to student accommodation, creating what is widely viewed as an innovative and potentially unique model within the accommodation sector.

Participants will gain insight into how non-clinical staff are supported to:

  • Assess and manage risk confidently and proportionately

  • Apply structured escalation where appropriate

  • Protect student dignity and autonomy

  • Balance recovery-focused support with the expectation of safe, independent living in communal environments

The session is designed to provide a clear, practical and transferable framework that can be applied consistently across both university and PBSA settings. Attendees will leave with greater confidence in handling high-risk cases, supported by a robust structure that aligns wellbeing, safety, and operational responsibility.

The presentation will run for approximately 30–40 minutes, followed by time for Q&A and discussion.

Joining instructions have been sent to ASRA Members via email, but please get in touch if you have any questions.
