Strategic Insights Lead at Homes for Students

Now that bookings are open for Conference 2026, I’m genuinely excited about the programme, the people, and all the experiences ahead. Each year, ASRA delivers an exceptional blend of professional development, networking, and inspiration, and this year is shaping up to be particularly special. Here are my top highlights that I’m personally looking forward to:

Student Takeover – New for 2026

For the first time, we’re introducing an ASRA Student Takeover, developed in response to member feedback. I’m especially looking forward to this new segment, which gives students a platform to share their perspectives, ideas, and experiences. It’s a fantastic way to gain insights directly from the people we serve, and I can’t wait to see the energy, creativity, and insights they’ll bring — it promises to be both enlightening and inspiring!

The ASRA Awards

Since being launched in 2024, the ASRA Awards ceremony is always a highlight. Celebrating the achievements, innovations, and dedication of colleagues across the sector is a genuinely uplifting experience. It’s a moment to recognise excellence, cheer on peers, and take pride in the remarkable work happening across our community.

Monday Night at the Cavern Club

I'm reliably informed that Liverpool wouldn’t be complete without a night at the Cavern Club! Monday evening promises to be a perfect combination of networking, music, and informal conversation — a relaxed setting to connect with delegates and exhibitors, swap ideas, soak up the city’s unique atmosphere, and maybe even test out your dance moves!

Extensive Training and Development

One of the things I love most about ASRA Conference is the breadth and quality of the training programme. You’ll find sessions led by members across the sector, offering thought-provoking discussions, practical insights, and opportunities to learn directly from colleagues. And the best part? You can select the sessions that best suit your interests and development needs, where else would you get such an extensive programme with that level of flexibility?!

Networking and Exhibition Fun

Of course, the best part of the ASRA Conference is the people! I’m looking forward to reconnecting with familiar faces, meeting new colleagues, and exploring the exhibition, which showcases innovative solutions, products, and services that support our work. There’s always something new to discover and ideas to take back to our teams - I can guarantee you’ll get distracted by at least one fascinating demo - don’t fight it, embrace it!

Make the Most of Your Conference Experience

Don’t forget to download the Conference app (details coming soon!) to personalise your schedule, keep up to date with any programme updates, and make the most of networking opportunities. Think of the app as your personal Conference concierge, minus the tuxedo!

What Makes ASRA Special?

What makes ASRA Conference so special is the combination of learning, networking, and inspiration. From structured training sessions to informal conversations over coffee, every moment is full of opportunities to grow, share knowledge, and take ideas back to our departments.

I’m very much looking forward to being there — to learning, celebrating, and enjoying the experience alongside this remarkable community. If you’re attending, make sure you plan your must see sessions, engage with fellow delegates, and make the most of everything Conference 2026 has to offer!

I look forward to seeing you in Liverpool — come and say hello! :)
